Dan graduated with a degree in Landscape architecture from UW-Madison in 2004, and went into business with his father, Ron, as his dream of becoming a business owner came to fruition. He has been serving the greater Twin Cities metro area ever since. An award-winning designer, Dan prides himself on creating landscapes that add beauty and functionality while enhancing your outdoor experience.

He was influenced by both of his grandfathers, one being a carpenter and one being a 22-year military veteran and then golf course greenskeeper. After serving 4 years in the military and obtaining a degree from UW-Stout he transitioned into the green industry shortly after. Erik has been with Willow River Company for 16 years now and continues to learn and develop new skills. He loves meeting new people and seeing how he can help them with their projects.

Outside of work Erik enjoys hanging out with his family, bird hunting, and working on their hobby farm.

Nick has been in the green industry for over 20 years. He is extremely well rounded with specialization in all forms of landscaping, lawn care, tree care, and irrigation for commercial and residential properties. He holds multiple certifications including ICPI paver installation as well as certified arborist. He enjoys meeting with customers to understand their outdoor service needs. He spends his free time with family and friends sharing his passion for fishing, hunting, golf, and basically anything outdoors! Outside of work Mike enjoys spending time with his family of 4, fishing, mountain biking and mountaineering. Last year, he had the opportunity to summit Denali in the Alaskan mountain range.

Tim has been with Willow River Company for 3 years. After more than 18 years in a corporate role, Tim followed his passion for trees to the green industry where he helps our customers’ properties look great by providing full-service lawn and plant health care. Whether it’s improving the appearance of your turf with a comprehensive fertilizer plan, injecting Ash Trees to treat Emerald Ash Borer, or diagnosing and treating tree diseases, Tim can help you with your turf and plant health care needs. When Tim isn’t working in the field doing treatments he serves as the Operations Manager for our Turf and Plant Health Care Division. Tim spends his free time with his wife and four children – watching their sporting events and traveling whenever possible.

Daniel began his forestry journey while walking through the woods with his father identifying and appreciating local trees, shrubs, and native flowers.

That early passion grew into a career as he attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and studied Urban Forestry and Natural Resource Management. Since graduation he has grown his knowledge by spending time in Alaska, Oregon, and ending back in Wisconsin. Daniel is now sharing his love of nature and trees with his wife and 2 daughters. He has been working with clients as a certified arborist since 2011 and has been ingrained in our industry since 1996.

His client philosophy- I treat my clients as though they are family and truly appreciate building long term relationships that preserve our environment for generations to come!

Aaron has been in the landscaping industry for over 30 years and began to focus on irrigation 25 years ago. Aaron joined Willow River Company in 2023 and continues to learn and develop new skills. He loves meeting new people and working with them on their projects.

Outside of work Aaron enjoys time with his family, coaching basketball, and camping.

Mike’s passion for the green industry started over 25 years ago when he saw a need for buckthorn removal. Having a strong desire to do restoration work in the woods, his career advanced into every aspect of the tree care industry. With over two decades of experience in tree care, plus having a degree in Conservation and Environmental Planning, this allows him to work with customers on a variety of tree care and restoration projects. Mike’s main goal when he leaves a customer’s property is to make sure they are educated on their trees and know exactly what to expect when the tree crew comes out to do the work. To date, he has worked with thousands of customers and managed restoration work for buckthorn removal on over 4000 acres.

Outside of work Mike enjoys spending time with his family of 4, fishing, mountain biking and mountaineering. Last year, he had the opportunity to summit Denali in the Alaskan mountain range.

Trevor graduated from the Urban Forestry program at UW-Stevens Point in 2012. Tom has been in the green industry for over 15 years. He is extremely well rounded with specialization in all forms of natural stone and concrete products . He enjoys meeting with customers to understand their outdoor service needs. He spends his free time with his wife of 32 years and 3 Grandchildren as well as golfing and woodworking.

Brett graduated with a degree in Business Management from the University of Central Florida in 1985. Throughout the years of careers, he has had roles in Sales, Sales Training, and Marketing, and has recently re-joined the family at Willow River Company. Brett prides himself on creating lasting relationships with the clients he serves, and is extremely excited about the launch of the Willow River Experience subscription model.

Brett is a dedicated tree production specialist and arborist with a passion for growing high-quality trees and fostering sustainable landscapes. As a key figure in the nursery management operations of Willow River Company, Brett has extensive experience in growing, maintaining, and supplying trees for a variety of landscapes and projects. Brett combines hands-on expertise with industry knowledge to ensure the highest standards are met for our customers.

Beyond tree production and nursery operation, Brett spends time with family and friends. He enjoys hunting and fishing, and takes pride in serving his community as a member of the Hudson Fire Dept.

Sina is a passionate and highly skilled landscape architect, having graduated from North Dakota State University in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design and a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture. With a diverse background in public, commercial, and residential design, Sina has developed a versatile skill set that allows him to craft beautiful, sustainable landscapes tailored to each client’s needs. His ability to blend creativity with environmental stewardship ensures that every project enhances the outdoor experience while promoting long-term sustainability. Whether it’s transforming public spaces, designing commercial landscapes, or reimagining residential properties, Sina takes pride in delivering thoughtful, innovative designs that leave a lasting impression.
